Boat rally 2016: Russell Newbery Register

The 2016 rally took take place from Thursday 9th June to Sunday 12 June. The venue was Circus Field Basin, Aylesbury Aram, Grand Union Canal with kind cooperation and permission of the Aylesbury Canal Society.

Highlights were:

Waterway and RN Quiz
Bar serving local real ales from Tring and ABC
Breakfasts, including Sunday special breakfast baps
Multi craft sessions including glass painting, jewerley making.
Technial workshops on Cylinder Heads, Mains electric on board, Internet of Boats and how to pass the Boat Safety Certificate.
Afternoon excurions to Waddesdon Manor and Bletchley Park.
Presentations on the Wendover Arm and the Buckingham Canal.
Presentation on the history of steam narrowboat President.
Presentation by the Chiltern Society.
Saturday evening entertainment from Mr Kite's Benefit Band - a rock group following the traditions of the 1960s era, but with a difference. All their fees are donated to the Rennie Grove Hospice Care charity.
Technical forum in the covered slipway with an item on exteranl skin tank cooling with the boat out of the water.
Sunday afternoon tea on the lawn
End of rally musical session from the RNR ensemble and shanty singers, with a splendid ukulele solo perfromance from Meg.
