Boat rally 2013: Russell Newbery Register

The 2013 rally took place at Stoke Bruerne, Grand Union Canal (Grand Junction) between 6th and 9th June 2013.

Events took place in the Canal Museum and the village hall.

The rally bar featured beers from two Northamptonshire breweries, Great Oakley and Hoggleys, plus cider and perry from Windmill Hill Farm at Hellidon.

Fourty seven boats, including two butties, attended.

The main rally activities included:

Ropework Workshops, Turks head mats
Gift Card Workshops
First Aid Workshops, taught by Willow Wren Training
Evening talk "Not So Idle Women", by Mike Constable
Evening talk "Canal Carrying 1970", by David Blagrove
Injectors workshop - lead by former RN apprentice Jamie Mason
RN Cylinder Head workshop - lead by former RN apprentice Jamie Mason
Annual General Meetings of the Register and the property company (RNR Property Ltd)

Warwick band Meet on the Ledge provided the main music event for Saturday evening. This was followed by the ‘RNR Rabble’, with various contributions from Jamie Mason, David Lowe, Dave & Nessa Martin, Ken Nelson, Kevin McNiff and Andy McNiff.
